Stephanie Inn Sojourn: What a Catch!

August on the Columbia River is a magical time.  People fly in from around the world to catch Chinook salmon and bask in the glory of summer in Oregon.  If you love the open sea and dream of casting a line in the mighty Columbia, this adventure is for you.  Spend a morning following the rhythms of the tides with Stephanie Inn Dining Room Executive Chef Aaron Bedard and expert angler and fishing guide David Johnson where the Columbia River meets the Pacific.  With house-made scones and hot coffee in hand, we’ll head 45 minutes north to Hammond, adjacent to Astoria.  All equipment will be provided; from novice to expert, you’ll be in stellar hands with Dave and Aaron.   

With our catch in hand, we’ll have the makings for a perfect ocean’s bounty feast that night in the dining room.  

6:30 pm – What a Catch Dinner in the Stephanie Inn Dining Room

Sojourns guests will gather in our elegant dining room for a 5-course sea-and-farm to table menu prepared by Chef Aaron. Each course of this brine and dine feast will highlight the bounty of the Pacific and coastal farms, from fresh catch seafood to height of the season produce, paired with a selection of stellar Oregon wines.  Sojourns guests will be seated together.

Price per guest is $1299 per person and includes the day’s fishing excursion, boxed lunch during the fishing excursion, the evening menu in the dining room and transport to and from the Inn. Guest preparation: This experience is an adventure and will happen rain or shine. It will only be cancelled in the event of severe/unsafe weather. Please pack weatherproof/waterproof shoes or boots, extra layers for warmth, and a waterproof coat. Weather on the Oregon Coast can be unpredictable—that’s part of the adventure!  If you need us to order boots and waterproof coats for you, we are happy to do so for an additional fee.  Please email us at sojourns@stephanieinn.com

There is no bathroom on board the boats, however, we will work to accommodate guest’s personal needs during the experience.

A fishing license is required for this trip. Please buy a “one day angling with shellfish” license and bring it with you. Licenses can be purchased and will be delivered electronically immediately at : https://or.outdoorcentral.us/or/license/

Reservations and Cancellation Policy:

  • Stephanie Inn Sojourns can be reserved by calling the following number: 888.974.9825 or by emailing sojourns@stephanieinn.com
  • Sojourns are only for guests of the Inn, 21 and over.
  • Your reservation will be confirmed via a confirmation letter email from our front desk staff.
  • Sojourns are not included in the price of your room.
  • Cancellation policy: Due to the high demand for these intimate, small group experiences, guests will be charged for the full price at time of reservation for the Sojourn experience. A 30-day notice is required for cancellation of the Sojourn experience.  Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable.
