August on the Columbia River is a magical time. People fly in from around the world to catch Chinook salmon and bask in the glory of summer in Oregon. If you love the open sea and dream of casting a line in the mighty Columbia, this adventure is for you. Spend a morning following the rhythms of the tides with Stephanie Inn Dining Room Executive Chef Aaron Bedard and expert angler and fishing guide David Johnson where the Columbia River meets the Pacific. With house-made scones and hot coffee in hand, we’ll head 45 minutes north to Hammond, adjacent to Astoria.
