We'll be there in a couple of weeks, but wanted to submit some of our favorite shots from prior visits. The "Ann Running on the Beach" shot is my personal favorite because it expresses beautifully the freedom we feel when we're there. Ann has been a distance runner for many, many years, but the beach outside the Stephanie Inn is her very favorite place. The "Cyclist on the Beach" shot is kind of funky, but, as a cyclist, I look at this shot and kind of wish I was that guy; just cruisin' along without a care in the world!
The "View from Deck" shot reminds us what a fantastic view we have from right there at the Stephanie
Inn. Likewise, we took the "Cannon Beach #1" shot from our deck a couple of years ago. "Stranger on the Beach" is kind of a mysterious shot that Ann took, but it kind of captures the magic of the beach.
I out the door at the Stephanie Inn. "Haystack" is more of a classic shot of the famous landmark, but gosh, what an encouragement to discover the beautiful sunset wasn't just from the afterglow of the afternoon wine tasting!

My Memory: Every January, my husband and I stay at the Stephanie Inn to celebrate our anniversary, rejuvenate and relax. One particular year, my husband came down with a bad cold on the day and evening of our visit. During dinner in the amazing dining room, the wait person noticed my husband not feeling well, and asked if there was anything she could do. He jokingly said he would love a bowl of "Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup." About ten minutes later, she came back to our table with a steaming bowl of just that! She had sent one of the bellmen to the store to get the soup, and my husband was delightfully surprised by her amazing customer focus and service.
This is just one of the many examples of our incredibly warm experiences at the Stephanie Inn. Our stay every year is nearly perfect...now, if that January coastal weather would just cooperate. :)
We have recommended the Stephanie Inn to many of our friends and family, and each time one returns from the Inn, we hear stories of relaxation and delight. We look forward to our next trip!

My Memory: The love of my life took me away on a surprise getaway to the Stephanie Inn. As soon as we checked we were highly impressed with the service, location and decor of the Stephanie Inn. The concierge took us to our room and explained everything we needed to know during our stay, from the cookies and wine tasting to some facts about Haystack Rock. He also explained the bon fire package my love had added to our stay. Our first night about an hour before sunset we headed down to the beach and he started the fire. The setting was beautiful. Beautiful beach, fire, sunset! Right at sunset he got down on one knee and proposed. I said "Yes"!! We then got to enjoy the Stephanie for the next two nights. It was a perfect setting, a perfect getaway, for a perfect proposal! Thank you for making everything so special for us. The Stephanie Inn will always be a special place to us and we look forward to our next getaway!

My Memory: This has been a hard year for me. My mom is terminally ill and I am helping with much of her care. I really needed a few days off (pretty much at the end of my rope emotionally and physically) and one of my best friends treated me to three wonderful days at the Stephanie Inn. I understand that your hotel is often thought of for romance but I have to tell you that the few days I spent getting an amazing massage, foot reflexology in my room while listening to the ocean, truly wonderful food and the star treatment you offer made it possible for me recharge to go back and do what I needed to for my Mom. At times when things are hard I take a deep breath and remember that weekend. My friend and I had great girl time, laughter, tears and much pampering. I bought the classical music CD from my room and play it often. I am sure this is not the winning light hearted story you are looking for but I wanted to take a minute to say Thank You and that everyone at your lovely Inn really made a difference in my life.

My Memory: I think the first time we went to the Stephanie Inn was on a very rainy night in October 1993. . . or 1994? It was the most romantic, warm, wonderful place to go to . . . out of the damp, dark fall evening. After that we stayed in the alcove room under the eaves for nearly every year (until it was remodeled and is no longer). Well, times always change and that is part of our lives.
My family use to come to Canon Beach in the 60's and 70's and we always stayed at Grace Haven Lodge (which is about where the Mo's restaurant now stands). It was a wonderful old rustic lodge. Several families from Tektronics would come together and rent the lodge for Memorial Day Weekend. A couple of my dear friends from grade school would come to the beach with my family. We had so much fun with the other families and their kids. We would go for long walks on the beach, have crab races in the sand, bon fires on the beach, and drives into Seaside for the amusement park rides.
Here we are celebrating my birthday at the Stephanie Inn. So, the fun continues! :-) It's great to have the Stephanie Inn to continue the memories of great times, in a great place, with great people! I love the Stephanie Inn!

Although it has now been several years, my late mother, my daugher, and I had several wonderful trips to the Stephanie Inn. Our last visit was when we celebrated my mom's 80th birthday with martinis and champagne at your wonderful restaurant. My mom died 5 years ago - my daughter and I treasure our memories of our visits at the Stephanie Inn with mom more than any other.
Thanks for letting me share.

My Memory: We had been to Stephanie Inn numerous times. Actually, ever since our first visit to Stephanie Inn, we simply could not find a better destination for special getaways.
Last year, for a change I insisted we try another resort to celebrate a special occasion. I decided on a resort in Lincoln City.
After a long drive from Vancouver, Washington, we arrived in Lincoln City in the evening. It was our first time there, and after checking into our room we walked around the resort to explore. It was nice, but certainly didn’t have the sophisticated elegance of Stephanie Inn. Nevertheless, we had booked a stay and committed ourselves.
As we explored the building on a self-guided tour, I opened a door labeled “Women’s Spa.” Anticipating a relaxing luxury spa behind the doors, I cried out when two dogs jumped out at me. Stunned, I froze in place as the dogs ran past me. An over-weight woman, wrapped only in a towel, hollered at the dogs and ran down the hall after them.
Needless to say, I never did go in the “spa” to explore further. Our stay had only just begun, but had already deteriorated to the point that I did not want to stay there. I had gambled on this new location, and made a terrible mistake.
Even though it was late, my husband telephoned Stephanie Inn, asking if they could accommodate us that night. Tired, disappointed and drained, we anxiously waited while the front check checked.
Yes! Stephanie Inn would be able to accommodate us immediately though it would have to be one of the more luxurious suits. Within minutes we were back in the car, driving north as quickly as possible in the dark of the night.
Finally, exhausted but relieved, we arrived at the beautifully welcoming image of Stephanie Inn. Once inside, our luggage was whisked away and taken to our suite. I ran to the familiar cookie jar on the front desk, delving into a fresh, soft cookie we’ve all come to know and expect from the famous cookie jar.
As we explained our traumatic experience to Stephanie Inn’s sympathetic staff, they ushered us into the Library to relax and mingle at that evening’s wine and cheese tasting. Of course! We had arrived just in time for one of our favorite events at Stephanie Inn; the wine and cheese tasting. “We’re home!” I exclaimed. “We’re home at last!”

My Memory: Growing up my family often vacationed in Cannon Beach. I would always walk by the Stephanie Inn and imagine how wonderful it was inside and how it would be the perfect setting for my wedding someday. My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our honeymoon in October 2007. The atmosphere was everything I thought it would be and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Everything about the Stephanie Inn was truly a dream come true and we look forward to visiting again soon!

My Memory: I attend an annual conference each year in July during my birthday. However, last year my husband was able to join me and we extended this trip to include two nights at the Stephanie Inn. It was the first time in nearly 5 years that I was able to celebrate my birthday so romantically with my husband. Upon arrival I could hardly belive the beauty of Cannon Beach and our room facing Haystack Rock was like a dream. Our dinner experience was such a treat and we later discoverd that your chef would be featured at the James Beard House in New York. Everything from our meals, walks on the beach and time together was so perfect because of your hospitality. My birthday celebration and stay at the Stephanie Inn is a memory I will take with me forever. We often talk of returning.

My Memory:Our first visit to the Stephanie Inn was during the summer of 1994. We loved it so much that we returned the following December to write Christmas cards in front of the cozy fireplace and to watch the wind and rain outside. That quickly became a yearly tradition for us and we've never been disappointed. Sometimes we've even had "good" weather for stargazing. The special Christmas decorations, wine tasting and delicious breakfasts are a very special part of our visits. It's always a magical 10!

My Memory: A few years ago when we first ventured a little bit north past Cannon Beach we drove by this incredibly beautiful building named Stephanie Inn. The name immediately tugged at my heart strings since this is our oldest daughter's name. Our much beloved Stephanie is now 22 years of age and graduated this year in mathematics from a local university. It delights my heart to know that one day soon, my beloved husband and I will celebrate a wedding anniversary at the beautiful Stephanie Inn. When we inquired for reservations my husband and I were so very impressed with the kindest staff we have ever met. Thank you!!!

My Memory: My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Stephanie Inn. We just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2009. We had a wonderful experience at Stephanie Inn. We had just turned 20 and 21 right before our wedding and neither one of us had ever even reserved a room in our own names. It was such a fun new experience to have our wedding and reception and then drive to Cannon beach late at night and check-in to our very own room like "real" adults. We stayed a couple of nights and had such a relaxing awesome experience. When we arrived we had rose petals on our bed. We loved the 2 person bath and the chocolate chip cookies. The location is beautiful. We have never slept better. The bed was so ultra comfortable and the sheets were so soft and luxurious. We loved it so much, my family took a collection for our 1 year anniversary and sent us back for one night. That was such a special way to spend our very first anniversary together in the same place we spent our honeymoon. We are now expecting our 4th child, and would love to return before the holidays and our new baby is born, as we have not been there for 12 years! Thanks for the unforgettable experience!

My Memory: We have stayed at the Stephanie Inn four times over the years. Our first experience involved our younger two daughters...their remarkable joy at the opportunity to run on a sandy beach and body surf was followed by our complete bafflement with how to wash out sandy bathing suits! What a delight to solve that problem. Our older daughter is a vegetarian, and will never forget the attention the chef gave to her, as he carefully explained what he could do for HER dinner. One of our other visits was not in the summer but in March. What an exciting time we had watching the crashing sea! Our children, who had only seen the tides in summer, could not believe what we had to tell them about the height of the tides in the spring. In fact, we had a real adventure as the tides reached levels that meant the windows needed to be specially protected from floating logs! Our current visit is simply a quietly relaxing time. We have enjoyed every walk on the beach; every pass through the hallway with the cheerful employees who always say hello and are ready to help...and every meal. (Stephanie Inn granola is my favorite.)

My Memory: Our first stay at the Stephanie Inn was for our 30th Anniversary. (Aug 2007). My husband and I had planned to take the same route we took on our honeymoon, driving down the Oregon and California Coast. Well I can tell you the best memory we have of our whole trip was at the Stephanie Inn. I think every staff member we came into contact with knew it was our anniversary. We were amazed at the personal service your Inn provides to their guests. We had wished we were able to stay longer. Needless to say we have been back since and are now planning our 3rd trip to the Stephanie Inn. This time with my mom & daughter. My husband suggested the Stephanie Inn, as it is our most favorite place on earth!! I have booked a stay for my mom, daughter & I in Aug 2009. We are so excited!!! When ever I am blessed with a unique and special experience I always dream of sharing it some day with my mom & daughter. I know they are going to be thrilled and can say sometimes dreams do come true...

My Memory: Our first anniversary we shared at the Stephanie Inn. That was 17 years ago. It was the most romantic stay ever. Our anniversary is Aug 23 and would love to capture new memories again. Dining, sitting on the beach with a bottle of wine, walking the beach to Haystack Rock. Meeting wonderful people and sharing experiences. This is a wonderful place. I still have my teddy bear that my husband bought me that was sitting on my bed when I walked into the room.
Time goes by so fast. But our memories last a life time.

My Memory: We found the Stephanie Inn last year. Our only regret is we didn't find it years ago
The moment we stepped into our ocean front room we said this is the place we have been looking for our entire married life. We came back this year and before we left we reserved our room for next summer to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
We have been fortunate to travel all over the world and we have found no setting more beautiful than the Stephanie Inn on Cannon Beach. Whether it’s the 24 hour coffee and cookies, a staff that always makes you feel welcome, the country breakfast, the 5 star dinners, just getting a movie to watch or simply watching sunrise or sunset on the balcony, we have found the Stephanie Inn to be the absolute perfect place to relax.
The only downside is leaving but as I said, we now soothe our depression by booking our next trip
